I think that both Prof. Gates and Obama are typical liberal elistist democrats. You’d think these “geniuses” (extreme sarcasm) would figure out that perpetual racism accusations are causing extreme damage to race relations in this country. I don’t think the cop was racist, maybe abusing his authority for arresting someone because of an atiitude problem that person had, which I can understand, but clearly not racist.

I don’t think it was profiling either after looking at what both sides said. I think Gates had an attitude not because of his “race” but because he thinks he’s special in general, and the cop wasn’t in the mood.

Harrison, I don’t think Obama’s remarks were shameful, I just think they were unwise. Or “stupid,” a term I would not have used in this context if he had not used it first.

DJ Black Adam, I have no doubt that “profiling is real,” but that clearly is not what happened here. One could argue that the cop was racist, although I think that’s too harsh. But the cop’s actions objectively were NOT racial profiling.

@Harrison:

Why is it that you folks seem to be able to mention the solider who was killed by that psycho in Arkansas (rightfully so) and not mention that Police Officer who was killed by another psycho at the Holocaust museum?

My point, both killings were done by people who in my opinion are terrorist, White supremacist are no different from Islamic radicals, each caters to psycho and sociopaths to be willing to kill for there insane beliefs.

As for President Obama, I think he may have spoken to soon, but I believe it is because he was asked directly buy a reporter and because it was about a personal friend, in any case profiling is real and it is unfortunate the only time some people seem to be able to talk about it is when they feel some cop is being mistreated.

Obama had more to say on this than the US solider murdered in some crazy jihad in Arkansas. Shameful.
